What we check before a casino gets into the register

Every operator in the CasinoTrust register goes through the same list. We open an account, make a deposit in Canadian dollars where the casino allows it, request a withdrawal and read the bonus terms line by line. Nothing on this site is copied from an operator's press kit.

  • Licence and ownership. Who holds the licence, in which jurisdiction, and whether the operator is registered with iGaming Ontario for players in that province.
  • Withdrawal speed. How long a payout actually takes on Interac e-Transfer, iDebit and bank transfer — measured, not promised.
  • Canadian payment rails. Interac, InstaDebit, iDebit, MuchBetter, credit cards, crypto: what is available for deposits, what is available for withdrawals, and what the limits are.
  • Bonus terms. Wagering multiplier, maximum bet while wagering, game weighting, maximum conversion and expiry. A large headline number with a 60× wager is worse than a small one at 25×.
  • Game library. Studios, live dealer tables in English and French, and whether the lobby is usable on a phone.
  • Support. Response time in live chat, hours, and whether French-speaking support exists.
  • Responsible gambling tools. Deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and how easy they are to find in the account.

How the score is built

The number next to a casino is not a single editor's opinion. It is a weighted score: payout speed and payment rails carry the most weight for Canadian players, bonus fairness comes next, then game library, support and responsible-gambling tools. A casino that pays slowly cannot reach the top of the list no matter how large its welcome offer is.

Ratings are reviewed when something changes — a licence, an owner, payout times, or bonus terms. If an operator stops paying players, it leaves the register.

What we never do

  • We do not sell positions in the list.
  • We do not publish a bonus figure we have not seen in the operator's own terms.
  • We do not recommend an operator that is closed to Canadian players or that has no working withdrawal route in Canadian dollars.

How we make money

CasinoTrust is free to read. Some links to operators are affiliate links: if you open an account through them, the casino may pay us a commission. That commission never changes a score, a position in a list, or what we write about an operator — the ranking rules above are applied first, and the commercial side is applied afterwards or not at all.
