Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx

Jungle Jim is an extremely well-coiffed character sporting a highly styled hairdo and a freshly pressed adventuring outfit. Quite frankly the guy looks like he never gets his hands dirty, which ordinarily wouldn’t encourage me to put much stock in his ability as an explorer.

Naturally, the slot’s setting is the golden sands of Egypt set against the infamous pyramids, a star-studded sky and the mysterious half-smile of entombed Pharaohs. The reels themselves are built within a stone temple.

Across this grid are a number of symbols designed to a fairly high standard. You’ll find the grinning face of Jungle Jim himself, game logos, a gilded book, treasure chests, urns and different colored gemstones (red, orange, green, and blue). For the most part the design comes in at middle of the ground, with the exception of when you successfully trigger the bonus game and are treated to some pretty cool animation. This is all set to an enthralling Egyptian-inspired soundtrack that added well to the theme.

Players are able to place their bets starting at C$0.10 and going up to the maximum C$20. While this will be satisfactory to most, those who enjoy the rush of placing larger wagers may find themselves limited. This is especially disappointing considering the high volatility level of the slot. The symbols themselves don’t carry any particularly large value, the highest paying symbol is Jungle Jim and he’ll only pay out 10 x at best.

That’s not to say the slot only churns out low wins. Thanks to two sets of increasing multipliers, the largest being 20 x, winning combinations can be particularly rewarding. Overall this is the kind of slot that will please most players as it’s an interesting combination of several active features and fairly frequent wins. There are definitely bouts of dry spins to contend with, but not as many as you’d expect considering the game’s volatility level.
