Lara Croft – Temples and Tombs

Lara Croft from Tomb Raider slot is back, but she might look a little different than you remember. The character has been modernized from Tomb Raider 2, taking on a fresh look for her latest adventure. The setting seems to be Ancient Egypt, even if it’s not a necessarily historically accurate interpretation.

The symbols across the reels follow the theme, with a golden scarab, Sobek (an ancient Egyptian God who looks like a stern canine) and flaming torches. Along with these are other symbols such as water bottles, climbing rope, Lara’s diary and a medical bag.

Gazing at you seductively from the grid is also Lara herself, who can be found in multiple poses of varying badass behavior. Pick your favorite of four Laras – there’s gun-slinging Lara, motorcycle-riding Lara, Lara leaping through the air energetically, and (my personal favorite) intense eye contact Lara.

The music is very thematic and reminiscent of the Lara Croft movies when Angelina still had the gig. It’s very professional and builds thematically. Lara herself also exclaims over the music when you hit on a good win. Her British-accented mutterings of ‘yes’, ‘oh my’ and ‘magnificent’ kept me fairly entertained for a good while.

Despite the fact that the slot doesn’t come with a bonus game feature, there are still a few rewarding special features thrown into the mix. It took me a few spins to grasp how each worked but it all made sense in the end. Here’s a breakdown of each feature on this Lara Croft adventure.

Lara Croft – Temples and Tombs allows you to make bets from as little as 0.20 all the way up to 20.00. Throw in several multipliers and a healthy jackpot into the mix and the winning potential in this slot is particularly rewarding. Some winning combinations will even bump you up to 50x your bet, and two of the special features work with multipliers so you almost always get more than you bargained for. The jackpot gets triggered at random here, so there’s nothing to you can do but hold your breath and hope. If you’re lucky enough to score then it will pay out at 5,000x your bet.

Let’s talk variance. Overall Lara Croft – Temples and Tombs is a high variance game boasting an impressive pay out potential of 7,343x your bet if you engage the 15x Free Spin feature multiplier. So even if you don’t hit on the Grand Jackpot, there’s still a solid opportunity to walkaway with a serious cash prize.
