Rocket Men

Kim and Don, best buds till the end. Obviously, anyone who has any idea about the political situation in the world right now will realise that that statement is pure sarcasm. But we’re really glad we’re still at a place where a slot game can take the piss out of the threat of nuclear war. We honestly don’t know what we find most amusing. Is it Don’s toupee flapping as he clings to Kim on the rocket? Is it Kim’s rotund face? Is it the amazing special features? It’s probably all of the above. Who knew that Donald’s Trump controversial insult to Kim Jung Un (you know, the one where he called him a ‘rocket man’) could inspire a video slot?

Don and Kim are the two main characters of Rocket Men. They are represented by two scatter symbols. Some of the special features have Don doing stuff like playing golf or grabbing women by the … tushie. As for Kim, he can be found firing rockets at the reels or sitting behind his desk planning certain doom. Despite the touchy subject, Rocket Men manages to pull off a lot of its cheek. The cartoon-like vibe of the whole slot is endearing and actually well-executed. Also, joking apart, the slot is stuffed with special features as a result of the complex theme. Two thumbs up so far.

The gameplay for Rocket Men is all about those two scatters – the Don scatter and the Kim scatter. The Don symbol can only land on Reel 1, while the Kim symbol can only land on Reel 5. But, the good news is that these scatters can land at any time on any spin. If only one scatter lands, then the specific bonus round for that character is triggered. The bonus round is a joke about that character’s favorite hobby. So, for the Don scatter it’s Don’s Driving Range (playing golf) and for the Kim symbol, it’s Kim’s Little Game (firing missiles). If both scatters land together, they battle it out until someone wins or it’s a tie. Let’s select each of our targets individually, and find out a little more about each bonus.

The payouts for Rocket Men are decent, depending on how much you stake. Obviously, if you wager anything above $80, your payouts are going to be much bigger than a win on a $2.00 stake. But, since this is a medium volatility slot, you’re likely to get consistent small wins and less frequent big wins. It’s enough to make spinning worth your while. The betting range for this slot is between $0.20-$500, so there’s a lot of wiggle room. Any type of player can have a go on this slot – high roller or casual player. The payout rate is 95.24%, a decent enough amount even if it doesn’t reach the standard. In addition, overall the bonus rounds for this slot have a good hit frequency.
