Volt Casino

Although it was established in 2015, the casino was revamped and relaunched in 2018, bringing players a fresh new look. In fact, logging in to Volt Casino feels a little bit like entering the Matrix. With its black background and laser thin green lines, the visual experience is strong and grown up, unlike many of the cartoonish online casinos around.

From the get-go Volt Casino has many good things going for it. A great look, a long history of solvency and solid legal registration in both Malta and the UK. But we’re here to dig deeper into the overall player experience. Essentially we want to know exactly what kind of voltage we’re working with here.

Volt Casino – The Highlights

• Up to 300 Cash Spins bonus on first deposit
• Game catalogue ranging from table games to slots to live casino
• Loyalty program points earn you access to special ‘missions‘
• Accepts CAD and Canadian players

Volt Casino offers players up to 300 cash spins on their first deposit. What this means is that they’ll match every $10 of your first deposit with 10 Cash Spins on Starburst.

In order to benefit from this welcome offer, you need to select ‘Casino Welcome Offer’ on your first deposit of $20 or more. Once this has been done, you need to go to your Gift Box and claim your reward. There are no wagering requirements on cash spin winnings. Deposits made via Skrill or Neteller are not eligible for the Welcome Offer promotion.

Volt Casino was clever about combining their welcome offer with their loyalty program, hooking new players into collecting points from day one. But we’ll go into more detail as to what this program looks like a little further below. All I’ll say at this point is that Volt Casino’s rewards program is probably one of the best that Canadian players have access to.

From live casino to table games and slots, Volt does a great job of building a solid catalogue across all games. Let’s break down what you can expect down each avenue.

If slots are your bag then you’ll have an electric time of things at Volt. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that these take pride of place at this online casino. The site supports a huge selection from the likes of Microgaming, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Playson, and Fugaso. They also like to give a shout out to smaller developers like BF Games and Wazdan. That means players have access to chart topping slots such as Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead, Mega Moolah, and Starburst, but also more left field options like Los Muertos and Medusa’s Golden Gaze.

The table game variety is small but comprehensive, with lesser seen games represented such as backgammon. You’ll also get access to the usual suspects like poker, blackjack and roulette.

Live casino is supported by the ever dependable Evolution Gaming. And the game volume at Volt Casino is probably one of the larger ones available, although far from the most varied. Players after a real time fix can make their choice between multiple styles of poker, baccarat, blackjack and roulette.

We discussed Volt Casino’s interpretation of player loyalty in the welcome bonus section above. It’s immediately evident that the online casino works hard to put a fresh spin on things in an effort to keep players coming back for more. So much so that they don’t even call it a loyalty program, they call it ‘Missions’. This is suitably obscure and vague enough to intrigue me. So naturally I was keen to learn more.

Players continue to accumulate Volt points as they play. Every C$1 wagered will gain them 1 Volt Point, which grants access to various ‘missions’.

The best part about Volt Casino’s loyalty program is that players get to choose their rewards for themselves, unlike with other online casinos where you pretty much have to take what you get — even if it doesn’t suit your gameplay.

Let me start off by saying that this casino is totally safe, all deposits and transactions are protected by SSL data encryption. If you’re not familiar with technical specifics, that’s pretty much as safe as it gets when you’re gaming online.

Canadians are also in good hands when it comes to the payment processes available. Volt Casino accepts all the mainstream methods out there like Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, EcoPayz, Neteller, Skrill, and Trustly. The cherry on the cake is that the casino processes transactions through these methods fairly quickly, minimizing on that frustrating waiting time. Withdrawals made using e-wallets are processed within 24 hours, although other methods can take as long as 3 to 5 days (e.g. credit cards). All this information is listed on the site when you’re ready to go through to the payment stage.

This all sounds great, but this online casino does hit one major stumbling block. Volt Casino does disappoint regular players like myself by charging high minimum deposit requirements, and even higher minimum withdrawal requirements. Anyone interested in playing must deposit between C$20 and C$1,000 (these will be processed instantly). But when it comes to cashing out, players are required to withdraw C$50 up to C$5,000. Those hoping to cash out for less are sadly out of luck (as are those wanting to bank more than 5K per transaction). This means that both high and low rollers are let down.

Canadians will breathe sigh of relief here because Live Chat is available 24 hours a day at Volt Casino. The green message icon is just waiting for your click whenever your encounter a query or problem, so there’s nothing to criticize there. I trialled the service and found that you’re prompted to enter a quick description of your query, after which you’re placed into a queue. I was in conversation with a member of the team within three minutes and I found communication to be easy and direct.

If you’re not in such a rush then you can content yourself by contacting the online casino by email at [email protected]. They promise to reply within 48 hours but of course there’s no way I can guarantee efficiency on that front. My advice? Jump onto Live Chat where you can properly express yourself in real time.

Your alternative port of call would be the FAQ section, which I personally always neglect to look through because my questions are always so specific. But if you have a generic question then you can navigate to the footer where you can click through to a series of questions and answers. It includes a search bar, so you can quickly find what you need without getting carpal tunnel from excessive scrolling.

If you read this review from top to bottom then you probably already know which way I’m swaying. If you skipped straight to the bottom then let me give you the highlights. The overall Volt Casino package is impressive. The site feels grown up and cool, and I really enjoyed navigating to the various sections. The game catalogues aren’t the biggest out there but they’re comprehensive enough for any average player.

I also really appreciated the loyalty program, and the only big negative for me were the restrictions on deposits and withdrawals, which were higher than usual. But if you’re not fussed about minimum deposits, Volt Casino will be one of those pleasant shocks.
